In the second week of September, the higher education community will be heading to Glasgow, Scotland, for the EAIE Conference & Exhibition and so will the EUF.
As in previous years, we’ll be contributing to the official conference programme with several sessions covering a range of topics, while also organising exclusive events for our members.

Member-exclusive Warm-Up Session
Attending the EAIE can feel overwhelming at times, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned participant. Our member-exclusive Warm-up Session, taking place online on 31 August at 02:30PM CEST, is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your networking skills and connect with fellow EUF members before arriving in Glasgow.
You’ll pick up practical tips, discover useful facts to help you make the most of your EAIE experience, and test your knowledge with a fun quiz about the conference and its host city.
EUF Network Reception
To officially kick off EAIE2026, we’re organising our traditional EUF Network Reception on 8 September from 8:00PM GMT+1, exclusively for participants from EUF member institutions and our partners. The gathering will give you the chance to network and connect with colleagues and partners in a relaxed setting.
You can register for both events here. While the warm-up session is open to all staff from EUF member institutions (not sure whether your university is a member? Check here), places at the EUF Network Reception are limited and registrations may be capped.

Booth G61: The meeting point for Higher Education Transformation (9-11 September)
Join us at booth G61, Higher Education Transformation by EUF, a space where higher education professionals come together to explore, discuss, and shape the future of the sector. Our booth will spotlight bottom-up cooperation projects and initiatives across four key priorities:
- Advancing digitalisation
- Driving green transitions
- Enabling quality mobility for students and staff
- Building resilient internationalisation strategies.

You’ll also find EUF colleagues and representatives from member institutions contributing to and leading several sessions throughout the conference.
Wednesday, 9 September
13:30-14:30 – World Café session “From disruption to direction: Navigating values and resilience in international relations offices” (S3.10)
Helena Alves (EUF) will join Martine Wierenga (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and Donato Lorubio (University of Lorraine) to explore crisis management and resilience in international relations offices. Participants will discuss their experiences with disruptions to internationalisation and hear case studies on navigating these challenges. Through interactive group discussions, the session will examine how values-based decision-making on partnerships can strengthen resilience and support responsible international collaboration.
15:00-15:20 – EAIE Sustainability Hub: “You Learn as You Go: Unlocking the Educational Potential of the Mobility Journey” session.
We will present findings from the Sustainable Erasmus Travel project on the competencies strengthened through green travel. This will be complemented by a short presentation on the Interrail Learning Journey, which seeks to foster and measure the learning impact of travelling by train. Attendees will be invited to reconsider the journey not as a footnote to the mobility experience, but as a learning environment in its own right. Together, we will explore how institutions can unlock this potential and invite participants to share their perspectives to help turn these ideas into practical action.
Thursday, 10 September
10:30-12:00 – Poster session: “The green travel revolution: How mobility can shape an environmentally responsible Union of Skills” (303).
Salome Dermati (EUF) will demonstrate how student mobility is linked to sustainable travel and employability through the overlap between the skills and attitudes developed through slow travel and those most sought after by employers.
14:00-15:00 – Roundtable Session: “New rules, new mindset: Managing the rhythm of lump-sum funding” (S7.10).
The new Erasmus+ lump-sum model is reshaping the rhythm of project management and the way universities plan, implement and report on KA2 projects. In this session, Liga Kuzmane (EUF) will chair a conversation with Fernando Perez Peña (University of Cadiz) and National Agency representatives on the practical implications of the new model and what this ‘revolution’ means for universities managing Erasmus+ KA2 projects – from deliverable tracking and reporting practices to mindset shifts. Together, they will explore practical tools, institutional practices and lessons learned to help keep projects in tune with the new funding rhythm.
15:30-16:30 – Roundtable session: “Changing tracks: Understanding and guiding sustainable student travel” (S8.14)
Salome Dermati (EUF) will join Simone Lepore (President of Erasmus Student Network) in a panel chaired by Chantal Sistek (Movetia). In this interactive session, participants will step into a student’s shoes and follow a typical mobility journey. Drawing on insights from the Sustainable Erasmus Travel project and concepts from psychology, the speakers will identify key decision points and discuss practical measures to encourage more sustainable travel behaviour.
