A database that determined living costs differences among all universities of the network to help students plan their stay abroad.
Start: 2004
End: 2011
The living cost database for exchange students was created with the goal of helping them to objectively consider and plan their stay abroad. Studying in another country is often perceived as an expensive option, which deters many young people from considering this possibility. In fact, costs can vary greatly and sometimes even within one country. Finding these variations can be put to the students’ advantage and improve the financial health of mobile students.
From 2004 to 2008 the database was compiled and updated based on feedback from student representatives. From the academic year 2008/2009 onwards exchange students themselves were the main sources of information since being newcomers they experienced living costs in a different than their native colleagues.
