How to make learning mobility more inclusive: rethinking the Erasmus+ grant system

Online event for EUF universities

Date: December 7th, 10:30 – 12:00 CET

Registration is open until December 6th to any staff members from EUF network universities.

Every International Officer has faced a difficult reality: the Erasmus grants available to students are not enough to cover the extra costs they have to face while on mobility. As a result, an increasing number of students either cancels their mobilities because they cannot afford the rising costs of living abroad or refrains from even considering going on mobility because they automatically think they can’t afford it.

What if there is a way to make Erasmus+ grants more inclusive, ensuring students have enough to cover the costs of their period abroad? How can we improve the impression students have on Erasmus+ grants? And how can Universities have a say? The next Knowledge Exchange Community session will delve into these questions and ensure that the voices of the most experienced people in the topic – Universities’ representatives dealing with these issues on a daily basis – are heard when creating a new Erasmus+ grant calculation system.

Participants will exchange ideas on what they envision for a more inclusive learning mobility and discuss what can be done to achieve that. The conclusions of this session will impact the Erasmus for all project results and hopefully influence the mid-term review of the Erasmus+ programme.
