Following the original note published on 25 August 2025 (available here) the EWP Consortium and DG EAC would like to inform all users that:
-
According to the best information available, we believe the issue with inter-institutional agreements is contained, with no new cases occurring since some time. This is obviously good news.
-
Another good news is that even if an inter-institutional agreement has had its status changed without intervention from the affected client these needs not compromise the nomination process, which reduces the business impact of the incident.
-
Another positive update is that we are not aware of any other provider experiencing similar issues.
-
This clearly is not an interoperability issue which would fall under the aegis of the work of the EWP Consortium and the purview of DG EAC – this is about the integrity of data kept by a company which uses the EWP Network and its backup policies potentially not enabling it to reverse a situation caused by a deficient technical implementation (as confirmed by the provider in question). Such matters are, fundamentally, in between the company in question and its clients.
