The rollout of digital nominations through Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) marks a major step in unifying Erasmus+ mobility processes. For the first time, institutions can use a standardised workflow for nominating students based on Inter‑institutional Agreements.
This new approach replaces long-standing fragmented practices and introduces a consistent process across Europe. Institutions will benefit from transparent status updates, reduced administrative work through automation, and improved data quality.
A Collaborative Stable Release for Institutional Adoption
The stable release of the nominations API—developed collaboratively by International Relations Officers, the EWP+ Consortium, DG EAC, and IT teams—became available on 15 May. It includes technical specifications, agreed workflows, and clear implementation guidance.
Preparing for Widespread Use Across Europe
Looking ahead, digital nominations are expected to facilitate faster mobility processing, and improved student services.
Technical teams are now encouraged to explore the new specifications, implement the latest version of the API, and support exchanging nominations digitally.
