The first of nine Erasmus Salons – a new initiative of the EUF – took place in Brussels, on the 31st of January at the famous Muntpunt Grand Café. Over 30 participants joined the EUF and speakers Caroline Sundberg from ESU and Carmen Mazijn from ESN, to discuss what the students want from the new Erasmus Programme.
The audience-driven debate, moderated by trainee Oskar Johansson, saw many different perspectives presented by students, organisations and decision-makers alike. Although there were differences in opinion, all could agree on the need for a bigger and broader Erasmus programme which could accommodate more students in new ways. After the debate, the discussions continued among the participants over a drink from the bar, where new insights were gained and new contacts were made. Keep an eye out for the next Salon!
