OpenU Policy Dialogue

OpenU Policy Dialogue

The first Policy Dialogue in the frame of OpenU project took place in Riga on the 8th July and welcomed the six Education Ministries involved in the OpenU project, stakeholders from Latvia’s higher education institutions, student representatives as well as the project’s Policy Cluster and Steering Committee members.

The meeting served the aims of gathering information on current national developments regarding internationalisation and digitalisation in Latvia as well as contributing to the future national strategy drafting; presenting the OpenU and its priorities to the Latvian higher education community as well as discussing the feasibility of the OpenU priority actions and drawing conclusions for the implementation of the project.

Similar Policy Dialogues will be hosted by all the other participating Ministries and the next one will be organised by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in Spain in early 2020.

The OpenU project will establish a European platform for blended and online learning, academic cooperation and virtual mobility, building on the strengths of existing solutions and with a view to pave the way for the establishment of a eU.university.
