The digitalisation of Erasmus+ is a colossal endeavor that is still very much underway, with current efforts focused on the digitalisation of nominations. However, an important milestone was reached by the end of 2025: all EWP core processes now have stable technical specifications, meaning no further work on them is expected in the immediate future.
This brings us to a point where we can finally begin working towards a new and ambitious goal: extending the digital exchange of data beyond Erasmus and beyond Europe. In this journey, we will be joined by International Relations Officers who dream of having all their mobility data in one place and handling it in a consistent and more efficient manner.
We are absolutely thrilled that strategic partners from around the world have enthusiastically expressed their interest in joining forces to address this challenge, following discussions started at the last Groningen Declaration Network (GDN) annual meeting in Oslo. Our cooperation on this topic will be structured through a GDN workgroup coordinated by the EUF on behalf of EWP.
The GDN is a longstanding partner of the EUF and an umbrella organisation that brings together 2600 experts in student digital data from 34 countries with a global outlook and footprint, and they will join us at the 2026 EWP Convention, where we will share further insights on the path ahead to establish global interoperability.
