QualityLink

The project aims to improve students’ choices by providing them with all relevant information on courses and micro-credentials from different sources to enable them to design flexible learning pathways. To this end, QualityLink will improve the semantic and technical interoperability of course information within the European Higher Education Area and beyond – establishing the necessary standards and demonstrating the technical infrastructure for linking course data from different providers.

QualityLink will: 

• identify indicators and data sources that students can use to decide which programme or micro-certificate to choose; 
• develop proposals for standards to share course information and quality data/indicators where these do not exist; 
• engage with the EdTech standardisations community to build ownership for the proposals; 
• demonstrate new services that can be offered to students by linking up quality data; 
• propose a feasible roadmap for scaling these services. 

As a part of the project, the consortium will produce: 

• a set of domains and indicators for course quality; 
• a standard for publication of trusted lists, representing quality information about courses; 
• a standard for a unique course identifier; 
• a compilation of ‘quality datasets’ that collects information about the courses and micro-credentials; 
• a web portal that links together these course datasets to provide detailed information on courses to potential students; 
• a roadmap for further development of scaling of the standards and the portal.
