Joint statement by DG EAC and the EWP Consortium about the note to EWP users regarding Mobility Online and inter-institutional agreements

Following the original note published on 25 August 2025 (available here) the EWP Consortium and DG EAC would like to inform all users that:

  1. According to the best information available, we believe the issue with inter-institutional agreements is contained, with no new cases occurring since some time. This is obviously good news.

  1. Another good news is that even if an inter-institutional agreement has had its status changed without intervention from the affected client these needs not compromise the nomination process, which reduces the business impact of the incident.

  1. Another positive update is that we are not aware of any other provider experiencing similar issues.

  1. This clearly is not an interoperability issue which would fall under the aegis of the work of the EWP Consortium and the purview of DG EAC – this is about the integrity of data kept by a company which uses the EWP Network  and its backup policies potentially not enabling it to reverse a situation caused by a deficient technical implementation (as confirmed by the provider in question). Such matters are, fundamentally, in between the company in question and its clients.
