Your opinion matters! Throughout the next semester, a large-scale consultation will take place to take stock of the key stakeholders’ needs, concerns, and ideas related to the digitalisation of Erasmus+ processes. Your insights will inform the ongoing and future developments of the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) services and the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI).
The Role of International Relations Officers in Digital Erasmus+
International Relations Officers (IROs) are at the heart of Erasmus+. Their responsibilities range from managing student exchanges to building partnerships between institutions. With Erasmus+ going digital, their role is evolving as well. IROs across Europe are working towards streamlining the administrative processes as we transition from paper-based to digital workflows for managing mobility programs. Therefore, to design effective policies and tools, it is essential to include IROs in the conversation. Their on-the-ground experience provides invaluable insights into the practical challenges and opportunities of digital transformation.
Objectives of the Consultations
The consultations with the higher education community will aim to:
- Identify Challenges and Opportunities: Understand the barriers to digital adoption and explore innovative solutions.
- Co-Design Digital Solutions: Ensure platforms and technologies meet the needs of both higher education institutions and students.
- Enhance User Experience: Streamline processes to make digital Erasmus+ accessible and efficient.
- Promote Equity and Inclusivity: Address the digital divide to ensure all institutions and students can benefit.
Key Themes for Discussion and Methods of Engagement
The consultations will focus on the present and future of ESCI, with a special emphasis on digital learning agreements and inter-institutional agreements.
The consultation will ensure comprehensive input from stakeholders, providing diverse channels including surveys, physical and online events, as well as focus groups with national digital experts, EWP Champions and the wider community. The first events will already take place at 28-29 January. Technical colleagues from all EWP Network nodes were invited to Brussels to discuss the challenges and opportunities of EWP and ESCI as we work towards its evolution.
