In the ever-evolving landscape of International Relations Offices (IROs), effective knowledge management is more crucial than ever. Frequent staff turnover and the need for swift adaptation pose significant challenges for retaining and transferring knowledge within IROs. To address these issues, we are excited to announce Knowledge Exchange Community online sessions focused on enhancing and advancing knowledge management strategies within IROs.

During this session, we will explore critical aspects of knowledge management, including the importance of fostering a learning culture and ensuring effective knowledge circulation within IRO teams. Based on recent PhD research from colleagues at ELTE, we will examine the current state of knowledge management in IROs, highlighting common practices, identifying gaps, and proposing strategies and recommendations to bridge these gaps efficiently.

Key Topics:

  • Knowledge Management in IROs: Understanding what truly matters for effective knowledge circulation within an IRO.
  • Identifying Gaps and Developing Strategies: Exploring common gaps in knowledge management and actionable strategies to address them, ensuring timely and effective knowledge preservation and sharing.
  • Designing Scenarios for Continuous Learning: Learning how to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing, ensuring IROs remain agile and effective during transitions, and preventing the loss of valuable insights and expertise.

Whether you aim to enhance your office’s knowledge management practices or gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this area, this session is designed for IRO colleagues seeking to improve team efficiency and ensure smooth internal knowledge circulation.
