Ukraine and the challenges of nationhood, individuality and survival

Ghent University is organising an international Summer School set to take place in Ghent between the 12th and 16th of September.

The purpose of this multi-disciplinary Summer School is to examine different aspects of Ukraine’s society and societal dynamics through in-depth study of four topics: identity, culture and ‘culture wars’; economic-ecological dynamics; the ‘humanitarian frontline’; and formal and informal governance. We encourage second- and third-year Bachelor students, Masters’ students and starting PhD students to apply. Participants are expected to be fluent in English.

The registration fee of 100 euros includes course materials, coffee and tea during the breaks and farewell drinks. Ghent University is also offering several scholarships for motivated students struggling to cover their expenses.
