We have recently discussed with the Times Higher Education about the openness of universities to Erasmus students’ arrival and the Erasmus Covid-19 mobility status tool, which was developed with the support of the Swiss National Agency Movetia and the University of Porto.
Based on feedback from close to 1,200 universities from all over Europe some findings are striking: 61.4% of the universities expect to be able to physically welcome students as of the upcoming semester, while only 36.5% plan to offer online studies to international students.
This casts new light on the scale that Covid-19 has disrupted student mobility in Europe, and raises questions as to how much more inclusive e-learning is after all.
