The 11th EUF Council of Rectors meeting took place on the 7th of March in Prague. Member university representatives gathered to review the 2017 activity and financial report and appreciated the tremendous evolution made by the network within the three-year mandate of the outgoing EUF Steering Committee. Composed of the University of Alcalá (represented by Vice-Rector Miguel Ángel Sotelo), the University of Latvia (represented by Vice-Rector Ina Druviete) and the University of Vienna (represented by Vice-Rector Heinz Fassmann), Steering Committee has provided a dynamic leadership for the network.
The meeting also allowed to hold a debate with Ms Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Acting Head of Unit B1, DG EAC, European Commission, on the initiative aiming at setting up 20 European university networks by 2024.
The participants also elected the new Steering Committee members: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (represented by Vice-Rector Ariadni Stogiannidou), University of Latvia (represented by Vice-Rector Ina Druviete) and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (represented by Vice-President Maria Gravari-Barbas).
The EUF warmly thanks the Charles University, and especially Vice-Rector Jan Skrha and Ms Katerina Rysova, for their extraordinary welcome and for the invitation to attend the prestigious inauguration ceremony of the second mandate of Rector Prof. Tomas Zima.
The next Council of Rectors meeting will take place in 2019.
