Registration is open to staff members from EUF network universities, namely International Relation Office management staff, Administrative and academic staff dealing with intercultural preparation sessions and courses.

The Knowledge Exchange Community’s online workshop will focus on sharing good practices for international/intercultural preparation of outgoing students and discussing the challenges and obstacles to optimal implementation of these preparation and follow-up sessions.

The session will be chaired by René Teunissen, specialist in International Education & Acquisition, Erasmus+ Programmes at Erasmus University Rotterdam, from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Welcome and introduction
Introduction on international competence and intercultural awareness preparation and debriefing of exchange students by René Teunissen followed by presentations on existing intercultural preparation modules notably from Ghent University by Thibault Hoogstoel.
Group discussion - round 1: Discussing the potential impact of student exchange on international competence development and intercultural awareness and ways of measuring it.
Presentation of discussion outcomes
Parallel group discussion - round 2:
- Developing pre- and post-mobility sessions: starting from scratch
- Scaling up existing intercultural preparation session: challenges and opportunities
- Motivating students to attend intercultural preparation sessions
- Implementing Intercultural debrief sessions: challenges and opportunities
- Identifying are the owners/stakeholders responsible for organising these sessions
