October marked the launch of two new Erasmus+ projects, each tackling critical aspects of higher education and student mobility in Europe. From advancing sustainability practices to transforming the mobility experience, these projects aim to make a meaningful impact in line with EU priorities. Here’s a look at how each of these new initiatives, funded under Erasmus+, are set to drive meaningful change across Europe’s higher education landscape.
GreenEURproject
GreenEURproject, Assess and label the green sustainability of European projects. In response to the EU’s climate and sustainability goals, The GreenEURproject introduces a framework to measure and improve the environmental impact of EU-funded projects. By providing a sustainability label, practical guidance, and policy recommendations, GreenEURproject encourages transparency, accountability, and green practices among project leaders and evaluators. This project will ultimately help align EU projects with sustainable development priorities while fostering an eco-conscious approach across sectors.
REX: Reimagining the Erasmus Experience
Revitalizing Student Mobility with Modern Perspectives. As the appeal of student mobility faces challenges in today’s educational landscape, the REX project re-engineers the student experience in choosing a mobility destination. REX investigates factors influencing students’ perception of mobility through literature reviews, surveys, and focus groups. It also explores the use of VR technology to make destination selection more interactive. By aligning mobility opportunities with students’ evolving needs and preferences, REX aims to make studying abroad a compelling, and fulfilling choice once again.
