Learning Employability Placements

A part-time work concept that allowed students to gain professional experience abroad.

Start: 2008
End: 2015

The EUF has been created with the firm belief that mobility will lead to highly educated, polyglot and committed citizens, as well as to a generation of scholars who are able and eager to transform Europe into the most dynamic and competitive knowledge-based economy in the world.

To achieve this goal the EUF universities have committed themselves to develop innovative ways to work increasingly together with companies and organisations in as many fields as possible, and to provide their international students with study-related work experiences. The academic world understands that this combination will strengthen considerably the quality of their study programmes, while companies and businesses regard this as a crucial step towards bringing transferable knowledge into their daily working routines.

The Learning Employability Places (LEP) programme was an 8 to 16 hours per week part- time concept that allowed students to gain professional experience in a foreign labour market. It didn’t prolong the duration of their studies and students also benefited from a monthly grant based on social criteria. Over 50 students participated in the programme, which has evolved into the #europehome and #empl-oi EU funded projects.
