Erasmus+ Mobile Application launch event

Erasmus+ Mobile Application launch event

The Erasmus+ Mobile App, a project initiated by the European University Foundation and the Erasmus Student Network, aims to guide all the Erasmus+ participants throughout their mobility – before, during and after.

“A step forward that brings Erasmus+ mobility firmly onto the 21st century” – Eva Ntovolou, Project Coordinator of the EUF

On the 13th of June, the European University Foundation (EUF), represented by João Bacelar, Eva Ntovolou and Lennert Van Sever, was invited to the European Parliament (EP) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus+ Programme and to launch the brand new Erasmus+ Mobile Application.

After gathering in the courtyard of the EP, together with Commissioner Tibor Navracsics, our team was invited to the interactive Erasmus+ Exhibition – a space where tablets featuring the Erasmus+ Mobile App allowed everyone to experience it. At 11 AM, the official presentation and launch of the Erasmus+ Mobile Application started. (Link to Europarl recording)

Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, stated: “By putting Erasmus+ at their fingertips, the new App will bring Europe closer to young people all over the world.”

These are a few of the most interesting features:

  • A step-by-step checklist to ease the follow-up of the Erasmus+ mobility process between HEIs and students
  • Erasmus+ Top Tips: a community-driven content that enables each Erasmus+ participant to contribute to the Programme by sharing recommendations. On that topic, Eva said: “It enhances the belongingness that participants have towards the Erasmus+ Programme,[…] you really feel it is your own because you can contribute”.
  • ESN events synchronisation: “[…] wherever you are you can look at your App and find nearby social activities”.
  • A connexion and integration with other online tools: The Erasmus+ Mobile App offers a connexion to the Online Linguistic Support (OLS) and integrates the Online Learning Agreement (OLA), with a view to enhance the sustainability and the exploitation of the App in the long run.
