Łódź Universities

At the Łódź University of Technology international cooperation is a longstanding tradition: multilingual study programmes have been introduced in 1992 and courses are taught in English and French.

The University of Łódź  is one of the largest and most international in Poland. It was founded in 1945 and among its gems are the Main Library, with 2.8 million volumes, and the School of Polish for Foreign Students, the oldest institution of its kind in Poland.

The Medical University of Łódź has been created in 2002 and is the largest teaching hospital Unit in Poland and a European Research Centre.

The city of Łódź is the 2nd largest in Poland and its glorious industrial past lives on in the city's architectural heritage with Art Nouveau facades and 19th century industrial complexes. Łódź has a fantastic cultural life: the Piotrkowska street hosts around 200 bars, and the city is home to 3 museums, an opera house and the Film School where Oscar winning director Roman Polanski started his career.
