Mobility and Digitisation - Can Virtual Exchange help improve intercultural understanding?

Salon #4

18 April 2018, 19:30 - 21:30 Brussels time

The growth of new technologies and media has not only impacted the way we live our daily lives, but also brought significant changes to the field of education with the development of new teaching and learning methods.

Student mobility has also been impacted by these changes: many young people who previously did not have the opportunity to take part in mobility programmes can now have access to intercultural learning and international experiences through virtual exchanges, as part of their formal or non-formal education. Despite its success, the Erasmus+ Programme is not always accessible for everyone, and this makes virtual exchange a relevant option.

With the launch of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange by the European Commission on March 15th 2018, it is the perfect time for the EUF to hold an Erasmus Salon dedicated to this topic. This Erasmus Salon will try to answer the question on how virtual exchanges can play a role in the extension of the reach and scope of the Erasmus+ programme.
